The Facts of a Hodgeling

32 Facts About Me

  1. I love that my life is not perfect, but it is mine. I make mistakes, I have hardships, and I’ve tried to end it. Yet, I am still here.

  2. In five years, I want to see my business grow. I am standing on my own two feet to help support my family with my husband as we grow our little family.

  3. I am the happiest version of myself when I am working on a project in my shed, spending time with my husband when there is nothing to stress about and my childling gives the best giggle laugh that is music to my ears.

  4. Working with my hands is one of my greatest joys in life. Creating a Pinterest idea or finding a picture and writing a story to go with it. I love to create, write, drive, be outside, be inside, read a book, or watch a movie. So many things I am blessed with.

  5. I want to improve my habit of getting up later in the day and dragging my feet to get moving. I stay in bed until the last possible moment before even getting my feet on the ground and most of the time it is my bladder that makes me get up or my childling.

  6. I am not a superstitious person but I do watch for signs during my day. That does make me superstitious I guess. I don’t see it that way. Lately, my signs have been given to me through watching crows. One for sorrow, two for luck, three for a celebration or a girl, and so on. There is a murder in my neighborhood. I want to make friends.

  7. If you have not guessed, I am an animal person. Always grew up with animals. My parents, mainly my dad, had a farm. Chickens, goats, pigs, dogs and cats. It followed me into my adult life. I had a turkey. She died this year and we are prepping the roost for chickens. There are currently four dogs, two rats, and nine cats in my household.

  8. Heights. I am aware it is a common fear. I would not say it is really a fear of mine. I just very much dislike heights. I used to not care as a child. I have a treehouse and even fell from it once. Still haven’t broken a single bone in my body. There was one day I was working with my dad on the roof of a bar patio. Looking down between the rafters I just felt the drop in the pit of my stomach and did not like them ever since.

  9. This brings up flying. Again, it’s just a dislike. I do panic and have to hold onto my husband for dear life while listening to music but once in the air or back on the ground I am fine. It was a dream that started it. Most people have flying dreams. I hated those. I loved running. I remember a terrifying dream of taking off on a plane. Hated the fear and the feeling. I will keep my feet on the ground, thank you.

  10. I love all colors, especially the rainbow. If I had to pick one color though, it would be blood red. I love the color against pure white. Seeing a picture of blood splatters over snow had me falling in love with the look. Switching from light blue to deep wine red.

  11. Halloween is my favorite holiday. I used to decorate and dress up every year. In 2014 or so, my brother started a spook alley at his house in Herriman. It started as a display in the doorway. Expanded to the garage and grew to a second building with car parking tents in the backyard. We never charged but we did work with the Boy Scouts of America and did Fill the Coffin for the food drive of Utah. I miss those Halloween nights.

  12. As a child, I would go to Mountain Man rendezvous with my dad. Fort Bridger and Fort Buenaventura were the events I remember the most. My parents had a second wedding at Fort Buenaventura. Married in law and married by the hands of Two Hawk. He was a true Blackfoot Native American and a very good man to myself and my father, Toker Timothy Many Hats.

  13. I think this next fact will be safe to say and I can’t get in trouble with the law. There is a bar here in Utah called Piper Down, an Olde Irish pub. My brother and father were hired by the owner to do the woodworking, metal decorations, repairs, and maintenance. I was the twelve-year-old girl running up and down the bar, around the cocktail tables, and up the stairs to the office. It was only ever when it was closed for the day. Myself and my best friend and sibling Jo got to stay up until three in the morning to go into the bar after closing. In the back Temple Bar, we worked with my dad to pour resin on the countertop. I fell asleep halfway through the night. We got home at ten AM that morning.

  14. Let’s get away from the long posts for a bit. I prefer mountains and woods over the beach and ocean any day BUT I would love to lie in Oregon where there are both.

  15. I did not get my driver's license until I was twenty-one. I would have gotten it in high school when I was fifteen but I would get sick all the time and miss the deadline for the days needed to be in the class. I hated getting sick.

  16. I have nearly died five times in my lifetime.

  17. Rain used to be my favorite weather. Now it is a cool day in spring or fall before the harsher weather steps in for the year. I get more work done outside.

  18. When I was little, I would go to my grandparents' house and watch the recorded TV aired copy of The Dark Crystal. It was the only thing I wanted when they passed away and still my favorite movie to this day. That is why I call my child, childling from the new series.

  19. Pineapple does not belong on a pizza unless you have a random craving for it.

  20. I have many events in my life that could be considered the hardest thing I had to do. However, I can say four are at the very top that comes to mind. Staying up all night holding my cat Corona’s chest as her heartbeat for the last time. Having to put my dog, Rummy down so he was no longer in pain and watching my childling cough with a cold as nothing we did seemed to take away her pain. The final one comes with an event that almost had me losing my husband. I will keep that one more to myself.

  21. My go-to karaoke song is Gunpowder and Lead by Maranda Lambert.

  22. I collect porcelain dolls. My dream is to have one from every state I have ever visited.

  23. Speaking of dolls. I have one that is haunted and some guy’s ashes sitting on a shelf in my kitchen. Long story that would make an interesting blog of its own. Comment if you would even like to hear it.

  24. One food I could never get tired of eating? Freeze-dried ice cream sandwiches and peach cobbler.

  25. My go-to joke: Back in 2020 we had the pandemic but there was another event that was supposed to happen that year. Everyone was buying up all the toilet paper. I know why. In May, there was a meteor that was supposed to hit us. One just like what took out the dinosaurs. With everyone buying up toilet paper, paper beats rock. The meteor missed Earth.

  26. Jurassic Park is my, put-on-in-the-background-while-I-am-cleaning movie to watch. I am most likely why the Netflix series, Camp Cretaceous has so many rewatched views.

  27. In my family, I am my father's youngest and my mother's first. My two brothers and sister were from his first marriage. There is a twelve-year difference between me and my sister. The last one in the house was the baby of the family and the only child. I was spoiled however I learned to work for what I wanted.

  28. I wanted to be a veterinarian. Sadly, it did not happen. I am kind of happy it didn’t. Seeing animals in pain is hard.

  29. My turkey died of old age, not for Thanksgiving. She was more of a pet and there for the eggs rather than dinner.

  30. Born and raised in Utah. I didn’t get out before I was twenty so I doubt I will leave the mountain valley now.

  31. My family is Scottish, Dutch, and English. My husband is from England. I just wanted to get the red blood back in my family.

  32. The final fact is my age as of 2024

That is 32 facts about me. I hope you enjoyed the reading and insight into my life. I hope there will be more and if you have any questions you would like to ask, please leave them in the comments.
